Ken Galambos P. Eng. Ken has recently returned to the Yukon Geological Survey following an 18 month secondment as one of the Senior Business Development Advisors with the Strategic Industries Branch of the Department of Economic Development. Prior to this, he managed the Yukon Mining Incentives Program for more than 7 ½ years. Ken began his career in the mineral exploration at an early age, collecting interesting rocks and mineral specimens in and around his home town of Flin Flon, Manitoba. More formal training followed with working summers in both the surface processing plants and underground for Hudson Bay Mining & Smelting Co. Ltd. He has worked extensively with Hudson Bay's exploration department in northern Manitoba looking for VMS and precious metals deposits and looking for SEDEX mineralization in the Selwyn basin and gold throughout the rest of the Territory. Ken joined Noranda Exploration in 1988 and worked as both a project geologist on various precious metal properties and as District Geologist developing the Brewery Creek mine. With the downturn of the exploration industry in the early 90's, Ken spent his time prospecting and consulting while going to school for carpentry. He obtained his Journeyman's papers in mid-1997 and joined the Government of Yukon shortly thereafter. Ken received his Bachelor degree in Geological Engineering from the University of Saskatchewan in 1982.
