Catherine S. Welsh Catherine is a senior geological assistant with the Yukon Geological Survey (YGS). She has supported a number of mapping projects, databases and has assisted in the compilation of YGS reports. In the summer of 2007, Catherine worked as a field assistant to YGS Surficial geologists Jeff Bond and Panya Lipovsky Creek mapping Surficial geology and searching for evidence of McConnell and Reid glacial limits near Beaver Creek. Following this, Catherine assisted placer geologist Bill LeBarge sampling gravels at placer gold mines in the Mayo, Whitehorse and Dawson districts. Catherine received her B.Sc. with Natural Resource focus from the University of Alberta in 2004 and Forest Technology Diploma from the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology in 1999.
